What do we want?

We want a place where everyone feels free to be themselves—a café where every worker earns a living wage, and every guest feels welcome.

And the coffee?

We want the coffee to be among America’s best.

Youngblood was born from these goals, and we remember them every day. We admit that these are some pretty romantic ideals—it’s not easy to make amazing craft coffee and provide on-point hospitality, all while nurturing the professional growth of our co-workers and friends. 

Nonetheless, those are our goals, our desires, and our wants. It’s the reason we’re here. 

We came here with decades of craft coffee experience. We helped build some of the community’s most successful roasteries and cafes… from Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, to throughout the Midwest. We soaked in all the wisdom and expertise that we could, and brought it home to Youngblood.

That’s why we offer only ethically sourced, high-elevation, fully washed Arabica beans. These are the cleanest, sweetest, best coffees available in the world. Next, we hand-roast in our world-class Probat to accentuate each coffee’s unique character and flavor. Youngblood coffee is never over-roasted—it’s just coaxed to that spot of perfect sweetness, acidity, and body.

We brew and serve these incredible coffees in simple and welcoming cafes, designed with thoughtful intentionality. As vinyl records spin in the background, neighbors meet at Youngblood’s long communal tables. Interesting people with strong opinions share smiles over sips of coffee and bites of pastry or toast. The scene is buzzing. The barista waves as a regular walks in the front door. 

Who is that regular? Youngblood doesn’t have a target demographic, and we don’t spend money on advertising. We want anyone who enjoys what we’re doing to come and be part of it. At Youngblood, you might see a skater punk next to a lawyer, next to a teacher, next to a soccer parent. Or the regular might be you.
